My Father
The many things you taught me
will last throughout the years.
Like quiet strength and tolerance,
and how to conquer fears.
You loved to take me with you,
I always felt so proud.
When riding on your shoulders,
to see above the crowd.
You could answer any question,
you could mend a broken toy.
Instruct like a professor,
or play just like a boy.
You encouraged all my ventures,
you told me I'd go far.
And against your better judgment,
you'd let me use your car.
You're the father I depend on,
and there's one thing more to say.
The respect and love I have for you,
grows stronger every day. |
