A Special Grandmother
Her lap’s just right for sitting
when it’s story telling time
And she always can remember
another nursery rhyme.
She walks a little slower
just right for little legs
And has lots of time to study
rocks or shells or robins eggs
She loves to be invited
to parties set with tea
And pretends to understand
a baseball rivalry
She is someone you can go to
when your parents have said “no”
And she’ll never ever spoil you
well at least it doesn’t show
But the reason that she’s special
is none of the above
It’s simply that she’s someone
